90 Days | Outstanding quality similar to Crimson Sweet and more. Long cylinder shape, averages 25 Lb. and can top 40 Lb. with a unique rind coloring, having light green broken stripes on a dark base. Fine shipper with long shelf life. Ripeness best determined by yellowing that develops on bottom side so you don’t pick too soon. Flesh bright red, high in sugar. Small dark seed with few per melon, but a pound of seed sows twice as far as Charleston Gray. Tolerant to Fusarium Wilt and Anthracnose races 1&3. Released by Department of Horticulture, Kansas State University as a sister line of Crimson Sweet in the 1960s.
