Gourd – Cucuzzi Italian Edible
Cucuzzi, also known as Italian Edible Gourd or Longissima, is one of the few edible gourds. It has a long, slender, pale green fruit that is best harvested when young and tender, around 6-12 inches long. The flesh is white, tender, and sweet, with a flavor similar to zucchini. Gourds growing variable in size, 4 to 5 inches in diameter by 2 – 3 feet long tapered toward stem end. Shell turns hard at maturity.
