Description
79 Days | This early western shipping cantaloupe yield’s fruit that are suture less with heavy netting. Dark orange flesh has 12% to 13% sugar level. 7 x 7 1/2 inches. Tolerance to Powdery Mildew 1 & 2, and Sulphur. A very good variety for commercial and roadside market. Primo has been discontinued, and what seed remaining is all I will be able to get. We are testing several replacements, but at this time we recommend our Holbrook variety as our closest comparison.
My only remaining seed is FI-400 treated, and when it runs out there will be no more.
70-90 Days to maturity
3-7 Days to sprout
Melon seeds per Oz: About 1,000
Melon seeds per Lb: About 16,000
Plant 1″-2″ deep, in rows 6′-8′ foot apart. Thin or transplant to a spacing of 2′-3′. Water at base of the plant every 10-14 days until cantaloupe reach softball size, moving water further from the plant at that point to protect the melons. As the melons mature, cut back watering further to increase sugar content.
