90-110 Days | Intermediate Day | A smaller white globe onion, suitable for pearl or pickling onions. Sweet crisp onion dating back to 1906. This Connecticut heirloom was named after the town of Southport and dates to 1912 in our own catalog. If harvested early, a great small pearl onion for pickles or as a scallion as early as 70 days, but if you let grow it becomes a sweet white onion for salads and cooking. Tolerates cooler weather. Packet contains about 5 grams of seed, well over 100 seeds.
As with other small onions, like our Crystal White Wax or the bunching onions, plant these 1/2″ deep around 3-4″ apart, in rows around 12-15″ apart. Plant fairly early in the season, since they like the cool spring weather.
